Its because you’ve most likely been doing the same types of workouts over and over again. This can happen with any fitness goal, whether it’s weight loss, muscle gain, or endurance training. You might start seeing improvements rapidly in the beginning, but over time, you inevitably hit a point where progress seems to stall. This is a common experience, but with the right strategies, you can bust through fitness plateaus and keep making strides toward your goals.
Strategies to Break Through Plateaus
Here’s how you can bust through these plateaus and keep progressing:
1. Mix it Up: Like your favorite cocktail, you should mix it up – If you do the same exercises over and over, your body will adapt and become more efficient, burning fewer calories or gaining less muscle. Try changing your routine every 4-6 weeks.
2. Increase Intensity or Volume: If you’ve been doing the same number of sets and reps, consider increasing the weight or adding more sets. Alternatively, if you’ve been running at the same pace, try running faster or longer.
3. Be Mindful of Your Nutrition: Your body needs the right nutrients to recover and adapt. If your diet is lacking these vital elements, it could hinder your progress. Make sure you’re getting enough lean protein, healthy fats – such as avocado or almonds, and complex carbs.

I know this may sound counter-intuitive, but just like any other machine – if you’re constantly running it at 100%, it will eventually break.

Sign up for running/sporting events in your area, or perhaps join a local fitness club to meet new people who share your goals and have different approaches so you can learn from them as well!
